Charli Says – Q2 Plans And Reflections

As we move into Q2, I think many of us are feeling the weight of just how much is going on in the world right now. There have been constant shifts, both globally and within our industry, and that inevitably impacts how we plan, prioritise, and move forward. I’ve seen businesses pause or cancel plans in the MENA region, while at the same time new opportunities are opening up in other markets. It’s a reminder of how quickly things can change and how important it is to stay adaptable.

Against that backdrop, Q2 feels like a natural moment to pause, reflect, and refocus. The start of the year always brings energy and big plans, but this is the point where reality sets in and momentum starts to build in a more intentional way. For me, this quarter will be a mix of strategic growth and something I’ve come to value more and more over the years, making space for proper downtime. Here’s a little roundup on what I’m up to right now.

Making Space for Rest and Perspective

After a fast-paced start to the year, I’ve carved out some much-needed vacation time. Stepping away from the day-to-day isn’t just about rest, it’s about gaining clarity. Some of the best ideas and decisions come when you allow yourself the space to think beyond immediate deadlines. As an agency director, that perspective is invaluable. This month it’s northern Greece.

The Macedonia region of northern Greece has a unique energy that blends history, resilience, and quiet progress. Surrounded by mountains, lakes, and a slower pace of life, it offers the kind of space that allows for both focus and perspective, something that feels increasingly valuable in a fast-moving, global business environment.

Event Season in Full Swing

Q2 is peak finance event season, and yes, my calendar still involves a fair amount of conferences, panels, and industry gatherings. The difference this year is that I’ve (mostly) retired from being on stage. After years of speaking and living off conference coffee and pastries, I’ve decided to step back and experience events from the other side of the microphone. Now, I’m there to listen, learn, and have actual conversations without mentally preparing my next slide or wondering if the clicker will work. It turns out, attending events without the pressure of presenting is surprisingly enjoyable. Plus, I’m more discerning about which events I attend these days, choosing high level events with excellent networking opportunities. And of course it goes without saying, I don’t attend award shows where participants all purchased the awards.

A Major Milestone for Contentworks Agency

This quarter is particularly special as Contentworks Agency enters its 10th year. Reaching a decade in business is a milestone I’m incredibly proud of. It represents years of growth, challenges, evolution, and an unwavering commitment to delivering excellence in financial marketing.

To mark the occasion, we’ll be rolling out a series of PR initiatives and activities. It’s a chance not only to celebrate how far we’ve come, but also to share insights, lessons, and our vision for the future. The industry has transformed dramatically, from regulatory shifts to digital acceleration, AI adoption and changing client expectations. Through it all, adaptability has been key.

What stands out most is the importance of maintaining integrity in a highly regulated space and one which is fraught with scams, get rich quick schemes and dubious AI written thought leadership.

Exciting Projects on the Horizon

Q2 is also bringing some exciting developments. I’m currently working on a European-funded video project that will be launching soon. It’s an ambitious initiative that combines storytelling, education, and innovation, and I’m looking forward to sharing more about it in the coming months. Alongside this, I’m supporting one of the largest finance companies in the US as they scale into Asia. Projects like this highlight the global nature of the industry today and the importance of culturally aware, strategically aligned marketing when entering new regions.

Ultimately, creative writing and scriptwriting remain my first love. It’s where I can step outside of structure and regulation and focus purely on storytelling and impact. Whether it’s video scripts, brand storytelling, or more narrative-led projects, these are the briefs I naturally gravitate towards. So if you have something creative in mind, I’m always open to those conversations.

Looking Ahead

This quarter is shaping up to be one of balance and momentum. Between celebrating milestones, attending key events, advancing major projects, and taking time to recharge, it’s a reminder that growth is not just about doing more, but about doing the right things with intention. If you’re looking to elevate your content, refine your marketing strategy, or expand your company into new markets, I’d love to hear from you. Whether it’s writing projects, content marketing planning, or scaling your business internationally, now is a great time to start the conversation.
