Things My Mum Says Part Two

If you read “Things My Mum Says” you will understand that despite me being a Digital Marketing Manager, my Mother is a creature from another planet. A wonderful lady who lives a sort of Enid Blyton style existence worrying about how light her sponge cakes are and whether that naughty cat is back in the garden again. Things My Mum Says Part Two had to be written because I fear that if I don’t write down her digital gems they will be lost forever. I hope when you read her words you will love her just as much as I do and realise that there is a world outside the digital one where people are… well… happy!

Mum on Twitter

  • “Is it some sort of bird watching program? Oh did I tell you Mr Woodpecker is back in the garden again?”
  • “Perhaps I will go on Twitter, could I could use it to organise the church fete?”
  • “So a ‘tweet’ … is it like sending a text message?”

Mum on the Internet

  •  “Darling, I broke the internet today, I hope it didn’t stop you from working”
  • “My friend installed a clever program for me today, it’s called Google. Do you use it?”
  • “Sometimes when I search for recipes I get naughty photos instead. I searched for whipped cream treats and got something else. I don’t want to use the internet anymore.”

Mum on Facebook

  • “No, I don’t want to use Facebook. I don’t want people to see me vacuuming in my dressing gown”
  • “Could you print off Facebook and post it to me so I can see your photos”
  • “I would go on Facebook but I am very busy with the roses at the moment, you have to prioritise”

And there you have it, Things my Mum says part two. I hope to bring you plenty more digital revelations over the coming months and hope that you enjoy them. Is your Mum digital savvy? I would love to hear your stories so tweet me @charli_says and share them.
