Letters

Letters is the latest full moon inspired poem from Charli.

And there it was.
Some letters are just more valuable
Trace the gold outline, the smooth curves
C like sea or cat she stumbled
Clumsy fingers grasping at the sound
A silvery kiss or a sharp scratch
That leaves a jagged imprint on your skin
There was less substance and yet
Like the sea, she could fill the spaces with thoughts
Melting liquid into the caves and crevices
Expanding above the waves like molten honey.
But in that space they find her
A glowing bay open to the cold night air
Not like him complete, infinite and cosy
She is incomplete, unfinished and less.
Hollow, a vacuum of time that he might fill
Or maybe not, who knew, but it was his.
And there it was.
Some letters are just more valuable
