1. WRITE YOUR BLOG POSTS

Make sure you write your blog posts for the Christmas period because you know you won’t want to do them on Christmas Day! A little extra effort now means a nice lazy Christmas weekend! Remember that Christmas is a particularly effective time for marketers so tune in to the holiday mood and write some great content. Try AgoraPulse for easy calendar scheduling!

2. STEP UP YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA

By Boxing Day we are tired, overfed and have probably had enough of one another. That makes it a perfect time to scroll through Facebook and Twitter news feeds searching for something interesting. As a marketer you need to make sure that your social media channels are on top form for Christmas and are packed with contests, photos, offers and engaging content.

3. UPDATE YOUR SOCIAL COVERS

Not updated your social media covers yet? Bah Humbug! Come on… it’s time to get into the festive mood and that means a change of cover. If you don’t feel comfortable going for an obviously Christmas theme (do remember your demographics) then you can at least add a few snowflakes and a snowman!

4. SEND A CHRISTMASSY EMAIL

The best time to send out your Christmas email is on or before December 22nd. After this point many people will be on vacation and will simply trash your email when they trudge back after the holidays. Wish your followers and clients a very Merry Christmas, thank them for their loyalty and tell them about your special offers or Christmas events.

5. REFLECT

Take time out to reflect on your 2018. Has it been good? What were your achievements and what were your marketing failures? Analyse your campaigns and make a checklist for your 2019 marketing strategy. By doing this you will be able to think clearly as we enter 2019.

I would like to take the opportunity to wish all my followers a very Merry Christmas- thank you for your support in 2018 and here’s to an even more awesome 2019!
